Sapphire Team Building 2013 – I was There!
After long and grueling weeks of preparation, it finally happened - The 2013 Team Building Activity for Sapphire. The PPAT (Project People Advocates Team) has prepared an activity and we called it – Mini Amazing Race. But prior to starting the race, team presentation - each and every team prepared a cheer dance.

Blue Team |
Red Team |
Orange Team |
Green Team |
Then the race was on!
There were a lot of challenges that each and every team needs to complete prior to making it to the finish line. After shouting the Go signal, the teams searched for their first clue around the resort. They were given a paper containing the clue where they can find their next clue. It was fun watching them run around the resort searching for that bottle. After finding their clues, they are instructed to go to the next pit stop where they need to complete a task. Each pitstop will have the team choose between physical, mental challenge or a dare.
Each team has to complete one task
from each and every pit stop to advance to the next. The most exciting part
where most of the teams had difficulty completing the task is on the Sudoku
Challenge where they are provided with one medium level. Sudoku - originally called Number Place, is a logic-based, combinatorial number-placement
puzzle. The objective is to fill a 9×9 grid with digits so that each column,
each row, and each of the nine 3×3 sub-grids that compose the grid (also called
"boxes", "blocks", "regions", or
"sub-squares") contains all of the digits from 1 to 9. The puzzle
setter provides a partially completed grid, which typically has a unique
solution.
The first team who was able to
complete the challenge was the Red Team headed by Cesar and advances to the
next challenge. While the other teams had difficulty completing the challenge,
Green team also advances and went to the next challenge led by Van. Mon, Cai
and MJ’s team are struggling with completing the Sudoku challenge, their time
is running out especially that the other teams are near in completing the other
tasks.
It was so much fun, everyone
running around trying to outwit and outrun their opponents. But at the end of
the game, the RED team prevailed. They were able to complete the tasks ahead of
the pack and celebrated their victory with a Cheer.
“GO! Red Team! Go, Go! Red Team Red Team! GO! Red Team!”
This Team Building’s Objective is
to really engage our people and at one point get away from the stress of
everyday life. And to promote camaraderie, friendship and teamwork amongst us
because we are one team and we need to work as a team, as ONE! This activity is
also one way to celebrate the good things that happened over the year and to
celebrate success of the team especially now that the peak season is over and
time to refresh for the coming mini-peak season.
Overall, the event was very
successful, they were given free time to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the
coolness of the beach! Great way to start, and Refresh!
Enjoy! Enjoy! Cheers!
